The Klopeks

A dream of mine for the past couple of years is that one day, I would get to participate in Gallery 1988's  grand group art show, Crazy 4 Cult. Well, this Thursday, this dream becomes reality! I knew that if I ever got to participate in the show, I wanted to do the Klopek family from Joe Dante's 1989 classic, 'The Burbs. I'm a huge fan of this film. I remember watching it on satellite tv back in the day about a million times. And while working on this piece, I watched it through about a dozen times. And let me tell you, it NEVER gets old. It's awesome! If you've never seen it, I highly encourage you to check it out.

If you live in or around New York, NY, go and treat yourself to a show that is going to be a fantastic display of cinematic pop culture art of epic proportions! The show opens Thursday, Aug. 9, and runs through Sept. 1.

  1. "Klopek. Is that Slavic?" I LOVE it! You have such a great obscure eye. And The Burbs has so many quoatable lines. "Sardine?"

  6. Yes! And apparently there were people who slept in line overnight just to get in to the show today! That's exciting! Thank you, I hope I did Dante proud!

  7. LOVE this piece! The 'Burbs is a vastly under-rated flick, in my opinion!
