Well, I don't know what to say about this one. It pretty much speaks for itself. Everybody knows 'The Creature from the Black Lagoon' right?
I was thinking about doing a series of the Universal Monsters with Monster's Mate of choice. So hopefully, there will be more to follow. I've got some ideas about what I'm going to do for the other ones. I decided to start with the 'Creature', since I've never done a finished piece of him before. And it's a good summer time subject.
Enjoy this trailer:
Right now I'm working on illustrations for the upcoming Little Shoppe of Horrors magazine. This issue will focus on Roman Polanski's 'The Fearless Vampire Killers' aka 'Dance of the Vampires'.
I'm always impressed with the crispness and clarity of your work!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see Frankenstein and The Bride...
This is awesome. I really dig the gillman and I think you did a great job on him in this pic.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to future entries.
Thanks guys!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I'm going to do next but I've been sketching out my idea for 'The Mummy'. But who knows who will be next?
Hurrah! Glad you wanna do them, cause we wanna see them!
ReplyDeleteHey Girlie....It's been too long since I've talked to you. How I miss your art and your Halloween updates. This has been the busiest year for me and my on-line life has been pretty much non-existent until now. But I'm back, and I'm primed for the upcoming Autumn season and of course our beloved Hallowe'en! Hope you are doing well. Great job on the art as always!!! :o)
ReplyDeleteBelle,
ReplyDeleteNice Work! I like the contrast of color between the skin, eyes and lips of the creature. You've captured Julie Adams quite well, too! I rewatched this film earlier this year just before Wonderfest.
Sometimes I imagine myself in the character's shoes of the film that I am watching. In the case of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, I ask my self, "Self, would you jump into dark water in the deepest depths of the Amazon Jungle?"
After careful consideration....I have concluded that there is no way in hello :-)
I look forward to your next submission to Little Shop of Horrors.
Until next time,
Lee
Excellent! Love the kisser on that fellah... and you even put Julia Adams in her swell one-piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks again everyone!!
ReplyDeleteLee, I'm not a fan getting into any kind of water where I can't see my feet. So I'm with you, swimming in the Amazon is right out.
Wens, wonderful to have you back. I know when you pick up the blogging pace that Halloween is on it's way! These things make me happy!
Well, as I told you on FB, you KNOW I love this one!!! Fantastic take on my favorite monster!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again!!
