Here we have two pieces from the very talented Frank Dietz. Frank is an amazing artist, and in addition to that, he too is part of the 'Skeleton Crew'! Here we see Dietz as 'Reet Pappin' from 'Lost Skeleton Returns Again'.
Dietz is a writer, actor, animator and a two-time Rondo Award winner for 'Artist of the Year'. You can see more of his art on his website, Frank Dietz's Sketchy Things and on his blog, The Sketchy Things Artblog.
He is currently making a documentary film with Trish Geiger (also from LSRA), about Bob & Kathy Burns entitled 'Beast Wishes'. You can find more about the film, including updates on the Facebook page.
Ah! So glad Frank's pencilific treatments are here. His gray tones are so finely "sculpted", so unique--there's no mistaking a Dietz piece. It's an honor to be a Sketchy Thing.
ReplyDeleteFrank, great work as usual!!! Looking forward to the the documentary!
ReplyDeleteFrank's is outstanding in his field.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't believe me just look at the photo of him out standing in his field.
I've been enjoying the entire Lost Skeleton Tribute. Thank you for hosting it, Belle. You're the best.
I echo John's sentiments. I've seen Frank out standing in his field close up and he does it very well, indeed. (All seriousness aside, love those two drawings, particularly the sunburnt face on Larry.)
ReplyDeleteAnd by all means, Belle: take some time off for a job well done!
